The G-Plan Legacy
In 1898, in a
cramped artisan’s workshop, a visionary young designer named
Ebenezer Gomme began creating exquisite handcrafted
furniture. His grandson, Donald, continued the family
tradition and in 1953 he renamed E. Gomme Ltd, G Plan, to
reflect the changing times. From these new beginnings came a
design legacy that would span generations and create some of
the most enduring, iconic furniture of the 20th century.
G Plan pieces such as the ‘world’s most comfortable
chair’ redefined homes in the 60’s and 70s, and made elegant
statements in the 80s and 90s. In fact, throughout the
decades G Plan has stood firmly at the forefront of style.
Times have undoubtedly changed since 1898, but the reasons
for investing in a G Plan original haven’t. Our continued
commitment to design excellence means we’re still creating
outstanding style-setting pieces that will grace any home.
It should come as no surprise that a new G Plan
purchased today could well turn out to be the design classic
of tomorrow. But then, as any collector will tell you, G

Our Craftsmanship
At G Plan we’re extremely proud of our work. Every sofa is made
to order in Melksham*, Wiltshire. And carries the personal
signature of the upholsterer who handcrafted it.
Our highly skilled craftsmen follow a 23-stage design and
development process to ensure each piece stands the test of
time. In fact, every G Plan sofa is designed from the inside out
so we can Offer different ‘sit’ characteristics for the ultimate
comfort.
We understand that buying a sofa is an investment, which is why every G Plan piece comes with a 10 year
frame and spring guarantee. That way you can sit back, relax and
enjoy real peace of mind.

assembled in the UK using components sourced from selected

Our Active Comfort collection has an intelligent
recliner mechanism which re-adjusts the chair’s ergonomics
to optimise back and head support as you recline. Two
designs with matching footstools are available in a
selection of luxurious leathers and wood finishes. Although
based on our popular Chloe and Mistral models, they’re
sensitively designed to complement any G Plan range in the
living room or to sit alone as an individual piece in a
study, conservatory or bedroom. They’re the perfect resting
place for doing almost anything, from reading or watching
TV, to listening to music or using a laptop.

Florina Pastel Scatters If ultimate comfort is your goal,
nothing beats the gentle cradle of a G Plan recliner.
Whether you simply raise the integral footrest or go for the
full laid-back recline, the beautifully constructed
mechanism (manual or powered) quietly and effortlessly eases
you into your optimum comfort position. All our recliner
furniture is engineered for maximum durability and
stability. Powered models also offer optional rechargeable
power packs so your sofa needn’t be positioned next to a
power socket. Smooth, quiet and unequalled in
comfort, our mechanisms are second to none. From the upright
position, through to the footrest position, to full recline,
our recliner furniture is designed for durability and
stability. Power recliners are also available with a
rechargeable power pack (optional extra), so that the sofas
or chairs can be operated without being connected to a mains
power supply. |
At G Plan we go to great lengths to source the highest
quality materials for our furniture. These beautiful woods
and fabrics are then combined with our traditional
craftsmanship to provide you with a stunning sofa that will
last for years to come.
Our fabrics and leathers
We offer over 120 soft fabrics, 20 colours of Italian
leather in three different finishes as well as extra fabric
lengths to help you create a fully co-ordinated look for
your home. Responsibly sourced wood
We use up to
70 pieces of timber for each sofa and ensure hardwood is
used on all load-bearing areas for maximum durability. Our
wood is responsibly sourced and all wood detailing is
available in teak, cherry, ash or mahogany.

Fabrics & Leathers
With classic chenilles, rich velvets
and beautiful new patterns available, now is the time to
really indulge in fabric. Be bold and make a statement, or
opt for a more co-ordinated look with accent cushions to
complement or contrast. Whichever fabric you choose, you can
be sure of its quality.
We go to great lengths to
find the very best materials, ensuring lasting beauty for
years to come. Our leather is sourced from a quality Italian
tanner who supplies premium car brands and fashion houses,
while our fabrics are handpicked for their softness and
durability.

Footstools
More
than just comfortable, footstools make great storage
places for books, magazines, games, throws or even
extra cushions.
There’s nothing like putting
your feet up to help you relax and unwind. And what
better place to put them up than on a matching
footstool, designed and crafted to the same exacting
standards as your sofa; to be every bit as
comfortable
and supportive. Each model in the G
Plan range has its own matching footstool design
which you can co-ordinate to complement or contrast
with your choice of sofa. They also make the perfect
occasional extra chair or convenient tabletop for
