The year is 1967. Cinema goers are enjoying the latest outing of James Bond, You Only Live Twice. The dastardly villain Blofeld sits in a distinctive wing-back chair with deep buttoning and soft foam cushioning. A chair first released to the world five years earlier, but not by Q Branch. This is "The World's Most Comfortable Chair", designed by the masterminds at G Plan in 1962.
The year is 2013. G Plan have collaborated with Hemingway Design to launch the Sixty Two, a contemporary remake of "The World's Most Comfortable Chair" for modern homes.
Seated on orbital design castors in a nickel finish, its wooden star swivel base is available in a choice of ash, American Walnut and black lacquer finishes. The chair comes in a wide array of beautiful fabrics and leathers, and optional contrast buttons allow for further customisation and an added slice of retro.
