Calligaris dining tables: a guide

Choosing the right glass furniture can make or break a room – but Calligaris has made our decisions much easier. Its clear contemporary Italian furniture designers Calligaris have carved out a name for themselves as design icons with their gorgeous glass contemporary dining tables. Their high quality and extremely stylish tables, beautifully matching chairs, and sensational lighting solutions are well-known and received both throughout Europe and in the UK. Here we look at five of our very favourite Calligaris dining tables (although, honestly, it wasn’t easy having to narrow our choice down to a mere five):

Park Glass Extending Dining Table

With its chunky base and wafer thin frosted black glass top, the Park table certainly has masculine appeal. In fact, it would look equally at home in the boardroom of a smart up-market city office. Furniture for a contemporary and minimalist styled dining room, the Park Glass Extended Dining Table simply smacks of style and good taste – even without food sitting on it. For those who love impressing dinner guests, it is £2480 well spent:

Orbital Extending Dining Table

Don’t be surprised when hosting a dinner party and you innocently invite guests to sit at your Calligaris Orbital Extending Dining Table, if the chat is more about furniture than food. That’s because this table, at a cost of £3744, really is a stunning and clever piece of work. The Orbital’s glass oval table top is mounted on a contemporary sculpted base which, in turn, sits on a striking matt silver plate. This table is sophisticated, elegant, and fascinating to watch when the leaves automatically neatly click into place:

Odyssey Extending Dining Table

A simply stunning amalgamation of glass and wood, the Odyssey Extending Dining Table will certainly take your dinner party places. Priced at £2520 and very similar in shape to the Orbital and with an equally clever clicking mechanism to help make extending the leaves practically effortless, this particular table is frosted glass with the option of a wood base and seating. Chrome adds a smart finishing touch.

Baron ML160 Extending Dining Table

And now for something completely different….The Baron ML160 Extending Dining Table is a gorgeous piece of sleek dining furniture with a cement-effect table top on chunky chrome legs. Put a steaming hot bowl of pasta down on its surface, allow the kids to play toy cars on it or even knock over a tub of paint on that cement style top – nothing is going to affect this table’s good looks. Priced at £1166, this is an Italian-built table that you will always be able to proudly to show off to guests:

Acacia Dining Table 120cm

Who needs Paris when you can get the outdoor bistro look at home with this gorgeous Acacia Dining Table for just £855? Designed with tempered glass, it’s as durable as it is stylish and available in transparent or frosted options – as well as three shades from grey to white and black. The name derives from the tree-like pedestal holding the glass top up, making it perfect for outdoors on the decking area near the garden:
