Fama Fabric Sofas

Fama may be best known at Vale for its individual chairs, but its fabric sofas are worth considering when you want the same design flexibility across a larger piece of upholstery.

Different Fama sofa families can offer a wide choice of widths, arm styles, back designs and powered options, so it is usually better to start with the way you want the sofa to sit and fit the room before choosing the fabric.

Compare the sofa families before choosing the configuration

Some Fama ranges share a common platform but change considerably depending on the arm, back or seat options selected. That means two models from the same broader family can look and feel quite different.

We can access products from across the Fama catalogue, not just the pieces currently on our shop floor, and are used to guiding customers through those family differences. Bring room measurements and photographs and we can help narrow down the sizes and configurations worth considering.

Think about how you want the sofa to work day to day

As well as fixed seating, some Fama sofas can include powered reclining functions. Try the action fully and think about where the sofa will sit in the room. Battery options can also be useful where you want powered seating away from a wall without a cable running across the floor.

Get the main fabric right before adding stronger accents

Fama offers an unusually broad choice of colours, plains and patterns. On a sofa, a bold print has far more visual weight than on an occasional chair, so customers often use a calmer main fabric and introduce stronger patterns through scatter cushions or selected areas.

The configurator lets us compare those combinations on the model, while the physical samples are essential for checking the true colour, texture and pattern scale.

If you want to compare Fama with other manufacturers, browse our wider fabric sofa collection. If the sofa itself is staying restrained, a Fama occasional chair can be an effective place to introduce more colour or character.
