Start with the texture, then make the rug fit the room

One of the strengths of Jacaranda is that every carpet texture can be made to measure as a rug. If you find the colour and feel you want but a standard rug size does not suit the room, the dimensions can therefore become part of the decision rather than a restriction.

Selected ranges are also available in established rug sizes, so the right route depends on the design, the room and how precisely you need the rug to fit.

Measure around the furniture, not just the empty floor

For a living room, think about whether the rug should sit in front of the sofas or run partly underneath them. A larger rug beneath the front of the seating can often connect the furniture and floor more naturally. If you have recliners, check the pile depth and clearance beneath the mechanism as part of the sizing decision.

Under a dining table, allow enough room for chairs to remain on the rug as they are pulled back. Rug thickness matters here too, as a lower-profile surface can make dining chairs easier to move.
