Peressini dining chairs cover quite different types of seating, from slim, lightly padded designs to more substantial upholstered chairs. Rather than looking for a particular 'Peressini feel', start by finding the shape and level of support that suits the people who will actually use the chairs.
Sit as you would at home rather than simply leaning back to judge the cushioning. Move forward as though you were eating, notice where the back supports you and think about how long you normally remain at the table. A chair used mainly for meals may suit you differently from one where you regularly spend an evening talking or entertaining.
Compare several models where possible. A slimmer seat is not automatically less comfortable and a heavily padded chair is not automatically more supportive; the shape of the seat and back, your own proportions and the way you sit all contribute.
Comfort is only part of the decision. Check the seat height and overall chair width against the table, particularly if you are replacing chairs around one you already own. Arms, wider backs and table legs can all affect how closely chairs will sit together and whether they tuck comfortably underneath.
If you are choosing a new table at the same time, we can move chairs around different tables in our Ash Vale showroom so you can judge the proportions and legroom as a complete setting rather than choosing the two independently.
Peressini chairs come in a wide range of upholstery, colours and base finishes. That choice is useful, but we recommend settling on the chair itself before becoming too attached to a particular finish.
Think about how the chairs will be used as well as how the material looks. A frequently used family dining chair may have different practical requirements from seating used more occasionally, and our team can talk you through the relevant upholstery choices once we know how you intend to use it.
The Peressini chairs shown on our website are intended to reflect the models currently available to compare at Ash Vale. Between them we can also show a useful spread of bases and finishes, with additional samples where the exact combination you are considering isn't displayed.
We can access the wider Peressini collection too, so the displayed chairs are a starting point rather than a limit. If none is quite right, tell us what you liked and disliked about the chairs you tried and we can use that to narrow down other suitable models.
There is only so much you can judge in a showroom. If you want to see how a Peressini chair looks with your table, or simply spend longer finding out how comfortable it is, we're happy for you to borrow a display chair overnight. Use it as you normally would, whether that's over an evening meal or a cup of coffee, and see how it works in your own room before making your decision.
