Choosing a bar stool is about more than matching the finish to your kitchen. Seat height, overall width, back support and footrest position all affect how comfortable it feels, particularly when the stool will be used every day.
Venjakob's bar stools are designed in bar-stool proportions rather than simply raising a dining chair onto a taller base, even where a coordinating dining chair is available in a similar style.
Measure from the floor to the underside of the counter or bar and allow comfortable clearance for your legs. If several stools need to sit together, also check their overall width: arms and broader seats can make a noticeable difference to how many fit comfortably.
Arms can make a stool feel more supportive but may stop it tucking neatly beneath the worktop. When trying a stool, sit as you would at home and check that the back and footrest feel natural rather than simply perching on it for a few seconds.
We display a broad selection of bar stools at our Ash Vale showroom, including Venjakob alongside other manufacturers, so you can compare seat height, support, arms and proportions before deciding.
