Connubia extending dining tables give you the flexibility to accommodate extra guests without necessarily paying for the more elaborate designs and extensive finish choices available from Calligaris. We've selected different shapes, sizes and extension arrangements to suit a range of dining spaces and budgets.
Think about how much table space you need most of the time, then consider how many additional people you would occasionally like to seat. A round table can be useful in a smaller or more square room, while a rectangular design may make better use of a longer space.
Check the table's dimensions both closed and extended, including the position of the legs and the space needed for chairs. A table that seats extra people when extended still needs to leave enough room for everyone to move around it comfortably.
Ceramic is a particularly hard-wearing surface and a good choice for a table that will see regular use. However, it comes at a premium. Connubia also offers melamine and laminate finishes on selected designs, providing a similar appearance at a more accessible price.
We've deliberately included different material options in our showroom because the most expensive finish isn't necessarily the right choice for everyone. Think about how you use your table, the appearance you prefer and how much of your budget you want to devote to the tabletop.
Connubia generally concentrates on simpler construction and a more focused choice of finishes than Calligaris. This can make a substantial difference to the price without losing the practical advantages of an extending table.
Our Victor and Calligaris Icaro tables provide a useful showroom comparison. Both are available in a 160cm size extending to approximately 240cm, but the Icaro offers a considerably wider choice of finishes and more elaborate detailing. The Victor takes a simpler approach, making it a worthwhile alternative when those extra choices aren't essential.
At our Ash Vale showroom, you can operate the extension mechanisms, compare different tabletop finishes and try Connubia dining chairs around the tables. We can also explore alternative specifications through the wider Connubia catalogue if the displayed model isn't quite the size or finish you're looking for.
