Highgrove Divan Beds

A simple way to build the bed that suits you

One of the strengths of a divan bed is how much choice you have without making the buying process unnecessarily complicated.

With Highgrove, you can combine the mattress that's right for you with a divan base, then choose the storage, headboard and fabric that work best in your bedroom.

It's one of the reasons we find Highgrove such a useful range at Vale Furnishers: you can put together a very individual bed while still keeping to a sensible budget.

Start with the mattress, not the base

When we're helping someone choose a divan bed, we'll normally start with the mattress.

Comfort and support should come first. Spend time lying on different mattresses in your normal sleeping position and don't assume that a firmer mattress will necessarily give you better support.

Once we've found the mattress that suits you, choosing the base becomes much easier.

Then think about how you use your bedroom

A standard divan base keeps things straightforward, but adding storage can make much better use of the space underneath your bed.

Drawers are convenient for things you want to reach regularly, while an ottoman base can provide considerably more storage for bulkier items.

You don't necessarily need to maximise every available storage option. It's better to think about what you're actually going to store and how often you'll need to get to it.

The practical details can make a big difference

When you're choosing a divan, it's worth looking beyond the mattress.

Think about the finished height of the bed, how easily you'll be able to get in and out, whether drawers will have enough room to open beside bedside furniture and how the fabric and headboard will work with the rest of your bedroom.

These are small details, but they're often what makes the difference between a bed that simply fits the room and one that works properly in it.

See the complete bed before you decide

Buying a divan gives you plenty of choice, but you don't need to work through all the combinations on your own.

Visit our Ash Vale showroom and we'll start by helping you find the right mattress, then work through the base, storage, fabric and headboard options with you.

You can also compare Highgrove with other divan beds across our collection, so you can see what spending more changes and whether those differences matter to you.
