A headboard is often the final touch that completes a bed, but it can do much more than that. It adds comfort, helps protect your wall and can transform the whole look of your room.

Many people come into our showroom looking for a bedstead, but what often surprises them is that a divan base paired with a floor-standing headboard can create that same contemporary, hotel-style look. If storage is important, an ottoman or drawer divan can also give you valuable storage space without compromising on the finished appearance of the bed.

Headboards are generally available in two styles. A strutted headboard attaches directly to the bed base using wooden struts and sits above the base and mattress. A floor-standing headboard, as the name suggests, extends all the way down to the floor, creating a larger upholstered feature and often a more contemporary, luxurious look.

It is also worth thinking about access, particularly with larger floor-standing headboards. Staircases, turns, landings and doorways can all affect what can be delivered into a bedroom.
