Vispring has been making beds since 1901 and is one of the names most closely associated with luxury pocket sprung mattresses.

Its mattresses are handmade using Vispring's own pocket springs alongside carefully selected natural fillings. Different models combine different spring constructions, materials and mattress tensions, creating a collection where the differences are best understood by actually lying on the beds.

At Vale Furnishers, we've deliberately built our Vispring display around giving customers meaningful comparisons. In our Ash Vale showroom you can try different mattresses, tensions and divan combinations alongside other leading bed manufacturers before deciding what feels right for you.

Why Vispring is different

One of the ways we often describe Vispring in the showroom is that these are beds which feel as though they have been made rather than simply manufactured.

Natural materials such as wool, cotton and horsehair are used across the collection, while different mattresses use different pocket spring constructions to create their individual characteristics.

But choosing a Vispring isn't simply about looking for the biggest spring count or buying the most expensive mattress.

Comfort is personal, and we've often found that a customer will prefer the feel of one particular Vispring even when another model sits considerably further up the collection.

Finding the right Vispring is about comparison

The amount of choice is one of Vispring's strengths, but it's also why we think these beds need to be tried properly.

Mattresses are available in different tensions, and many can also be made with different tensions on each side for couples whose requirements aren't the same.

We use factors such as your build, weight and usual sleeping position as a starting point, but we don't believe a chart should make the final decision.

In the showroom we'll encourage you to lie down in the position you normally sleep in, use an appropriate pillow and give yourself enough time to understand the differences.

Our job isn't to move you as far up the Vispring collection as possible. It's to help you find the point at which the mattress feels right for you.

The mattress is only part of a Vispring bed

If you're choosing a complete Vispring bed, there is much more to consider than the mattress.

A Vispring sprung divan is designed to work with the mattress above it and can influence the overall feel of the finished bed. There are also choices of divan bases, storage, upholstered headboards, fabrics, legs and castors, allowing the appearance and practicality of the bed to be considered alongside its comfort.
