British-made comfort, with a choice for both sides of the bed
Handmade in Hampshire, Millbrook mattresses combine traditional bed-making knowledge with modern pocket spring systems and carefully selected fillings.
At Vale Furnishers, we've deliberately chosen a small, focused collection of Millbrook mattresses. For us, their real strength is that they offer different comfort levels on each side of the same mattress at a more accessible price point.
This makes Millbrook particularly worth considering if you and your partner don't agree on how firm your mattress should feel.
Standard for one, firmer for the other
Sharing a bed doesn't necessarily mean sharing the same preference for mattress tension.
Millbrook mattresses can combine Standard comfort on one side with Firmer comfort on the other, from double size upwards. The fillings and construction remain consistent across the mattress, but different spring tensions create an individual feel for each sleeper.
It's one of the reasons we often introduce customers to Millbrook when they like the idea of a split-tension mattress but are looking for something at a lower price point than some of our premium British bed ranges.
Three mattresses, with a clear step up in comfort
Our Millbrook collection consists of three no-turn mattresses: the Distinction 1000, Distinction 2000 and Distinction 4000.
The Distinction 1000 provides a particularly firm, supportive feel. Moving through the collection introduces additional layers of micro pocket springs and increasingly luxurious fillings, creating a fuller and more forgiving surface while retaining the underlying support.
This can make a noticeable difference if you prefer a firmer mattress but sleep on your side. The additional cushioning in the higher models allows areas such as your shoulders and hips to settle more comfortably into the mattress.
The best way to understand the difference is to try them. We display all three at our Ash Vale showroom, including mattresses set up with Standard and Firmer comfort side by side.
A smoother, tuft-free sleeping surface
One unusual feature across our Millbrook collection is its tuft-free sleeping surface.
Traditional mattress tufts can sometimes be noticeable when you lie on them. Millbrook uses an internal tufting method, secured from the underside of the mattress, so there are no traditional tufts sitting on the top surface.
It's a relatively small detail, but one you may appreciate every night.
Made in Hampshire – and a brand we know
Millbrook mattresses are manufactured in Southampton, Hampshire.
Members of our bed sales team have visited the Millbrook factory to see first-hand how the mattresses are made and to understand the thinking behind their construction.
That experience is particularly useful when you're comparing Millbrook with other British bed manufacturers. Rather than simply looking at spring counts or specifications, we can help you understand how the mattresses actually differ and, most importantly, which feels right for you.
More than standard sizes
Alongside standard UK bed sizes, Millbrook offers split-tension mattresses from double size upwards, as well as 5ft and 6ft zip-and-link options.
Bespoke sizes and shapes can also be produced, including mattresses made from templates for unusual spaces such as caravans, boats and other non-standard beds.
Complete Millbrook beds are also available with a choice of divan bases and headboards, allowing you to create a coordinated bed around your chosen mattress.
Visit our Ash Vale showroom to try our Millbrook mattress collection and compare Standard and Firmer comfort for yourself.
