Sideboards and Cabinets

When choosing a sideboard or cabinet, you'll often have something specific in mind. Perhaps you need somewhere to store board games, keep your favourite glasses for special occasions or fill a particular space in your room.

At Vale Furnishers, we have 61 large cabinets on display, mainly sideboards, across our four-storey Ash Vale showroom, with many more sizes, finishes and configurations available.

Choose storage that works for you

Start with what you need to store. Cupboards and adjustable shelves can accommodate larger items, while drawers make smaller things easier to organise and access.

Look at the usable internal dimensions as well as the overall size. You'll also need enough space to open doors and drawers comfortably, particularly if the cabinet sits close to your dining table or other furniture.

Practical storage with space for something special

Many modern cabinets combine concealed storage with areas for display. A glazed section, open niche or integrated lighting can let you enjoy a favourite possession while keeping everyday belongings out of sight.

If display is your main priority, a cabinet with more glass and shelving might suit you better.

Find the right proportions and finish

A long, low sideboard can provide generous storage without dominating your room, while a taller cabinet may be useful where floor space is limited.
